Saint Lucia is famous for tropical vistas and gorgeous landscapes are what postcards are made of. Visit the island for romantic adventure.
This western Caribbean island is home to volcanic beaches, luxury resorts, lush rainforests and beautiful waterfalls. It’s the perfect spot for a honeymoon, with a combination of relaxation and adventure.
Find a resort to make your home base (we say home base because you’ll want to get away to experience some excursions). Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa is located in Vieux Fort, on 85 acres of land. With nine restaurants, seven bars and five pools, you’re covered. Relax on a bed overlooking the ocean, or head down the beach to try kitesurfing at the Surf Shack. Indulge in a couples massage (try the hot stone or the hot candle massage). In the evening, sit by the fire or enjoy some local musical entertainment.
Going off-property is the only way to truly enjoy the island. Drive to Soufrière and board a catamaran for a view of the spectacular pitons – two towering mountain formations that look down over the town. The best way to view both pitons is from the water, so you won’t want to miss this trip. Make sure the captain has plenty of rum punch on board.
While in Soufrière, visit Sulphur Springs park, home to the world’s only “drive-through” volcano (don’t worry, it’s dormant). Bathe in the black volcanic waters or try a mud bath. The mineral baths are known for healing sunburns, arthritis and sore joints. It’s an incredible experience, but do be warned: it smells like sulphur (it’s right there in the name!).
It’s just a quick drive up to the Moule a Chique Lighthouse, located in Vieux Fort. On a clear day you’ll have 360-degree panoramic views of the pitons and the neighbouring island, St. Vincent.
